Some select photos from a Gaga inspired shoot by my Italian friends at John Doe, which has been a big supporter and carrier of all things Headmistress from the get-go. I’ve been making bib necklaces for John Doe for a while now, which Andrea has styled in a whole new way as shoulder accents. They haven’t been widely available before but will be launched as part of the FW2010 collection in a couple of weeks!

Yesterday we trekked out to my original homestead near Stratford for the lookbook portion of the Headmistress FW2010 Collection photoshoot. There were no lions, or tigers- but there was a bear skin rug, several guns, an axe, a stuffed fox and countless pairs of antlers involved. And of course a healthy dose of feathers and vintage FUR. We’ll be in studio completing the rest of the gallery head shots and product shots today so stay tuned, we should be launching the new collection within a couple of weeks!

So I’ve been gallivanting around London the last few days and thought it would be a good opportunity to see the Headmistress for The National Gallery mini-collection in an up close and personal way. We headed over to Trafalgar square and sure enough it was almost sold out -no headbands left at all, only some clips and a few brooches! It was really awesome to see it in context and don’t worry I made sure to strategically place myself near the display and not-very-subtly tell anyone that so much as glanced in that direction that I had made them. After all, I’ve always been known for my modesty.

In other news, if you’ve been losing sleep wondering what brought me back to London in the first place, it’s because for the last week I have been flexing my face (and arm) painting skills at Glastonbury festival. Favourite part? Snoop Dogg + Willie Nelson…..obviously.

Best Scottish Weddings: July 2010 issue

I was both surprised and honoured to learn that one of the headbands from the Headmistress for The National Gallery mini-collection was featured in the current issue of Best Scottish Weddings. I have yet to locate a copy in print, but will definitely keep searching!
