I just received the final edits and they are beyond beautiful. The huge falling snowflakes and baron wintery landscape made the perfect backdrop for the upcoming collection, which is full of COLOUR!

Here’s Sarah rocking her one-of-a-kind neon hippie that she picked up at one of our bi-annual trunkshow’s at The Green Room in Stratford. Our next one will be around mother’s day 2012!

Four of our SS12 turbans are featured in the inaugural issue of Pink & Teal Magazine! P&T focuses on inspiring and supporting women living with cancer. I’m so pleased that they chose to include Headmistress in the first issue and lucky for you – you’re getting a small preview of the SS12 collection!

Clockwise L-R is our LOVE Radiance turban, LOVE Serendipity turban, LOVE Triumph Turban and HM Delectable Turban. The first 3 are silk or silk/cotton blends which will keep you nice and cool this summer, and the Delectable turban is 100% organic cotton. Look for these in a few weeks (but you CAN pre-order!) We pulled the colours for the hat from Brigid’s mother’s family tartan – and her dress was the midnight blue in the tartan. It was prettttty perfect, if I don’t say so myself. I can’t wait to do more of these for the upcoming summer wedding season! PS – still waiting on any invitation to any wedding so that I can make myself one!!

It has a zipped pocket inside for holding all essential – big enough for your phone, and a small wallet. There’s even a wristlet for easy carrying (but no strap). Best of all, this bad boy is 50% off until January 31st too.

…..and they included our Elbow Lake Muff!!! WOOOO. Unfortunately this bad boy has been sold out since before Christmas, but we do have one muff left from this season – the black Persian lamb version, our lovely Lake Athabasca. AND it’s 50% off!! HELLO.

We’ll be launching our Spring/Summer 2012 collection online in February, and it will be hitting stores in early March, but in the meantime here is a sneak peek of some of the innovative new styles you can expect to see!

For our die-hard signature style fans, we have plenty of updates on those too.

We are taking pre-orders from the collection now until January 30th, with delivery around mid February. So long 2011, you were swell.

Some highlights:

-renting a second apartment and filling it with weird furniture and owl lamps. Not to mention gaining TWO rooms just for HM! TWO!

-continuing to work with awesome people and expanding our team of HM warriors. Headmistress wasn’t built in a day, and it was built by like, a lot of different people. A for-real, heartfelt thank you to everyone who has chipped in. Thanks for being with me to celebrate the victories. I’m so lucky that I get to do this for a living, and couldn’t do it without you.

-selling to some big retailers. Anthropologie was a crazy experience and a dream come true. I’ve loved Simons for years and it was definitely a moment getting to go and see my work there in person. But more importantly, this year we established new relationships with smaller boutiques and cultivated our existing relationships with the ones who keep coming back for more. This year I learned that they are more important.

-two new york trips (more where that came from). Although their main purpose was (and will likely continue to be) for Headmistress, this year I learned the importance of getting away to get inspired.

-our ever-expanding foundation of followers. I’m so fortunate that Headmistress has such a loyal base of die-hard supporters. I love getting your emails and am so appreciative when you take the time to interact. This is also an appropriate place to give a shout-out to my hometown Stratford supporters. I am so lucky to come from a place where people actually care and want good things for the people it produces. Big things are happening there.

Thanks 2011, here’s to 2012!
